Student Visas & Work Permits

There are three different types of visas that will allow a foreign student to work or intern in China:

1.) F Visa (Business Visa) - issued to an alien who is invited to China for a visit, an investigation, a
lecture, to do business, scientific-technological and culture exchanges, short-term advanced
studies or internship for a period of no more than six months.
2.) X Visa (Study Visa) - issued to an alien who comes to China for study, advanced studies or intern
practice for a period of more than six months.
3.) Z Visa (Work Visa) - issued to an alien who comes to China for a post or employment.

Each of these visas requires that the student submit an invitation letter from a company or school in China
explaining the need for the individual to visit China.
